I is for In-Laws....
I am very lucky to have such wonderful in-laws!!! Reed is very close to his family and they have welcomed me in and made me a part of their family from day one. Reed's mom lives in Canton and she JUST had a birthday! She loves her boys, hanging out with her two sisters, her schnauzer Trevor, and she loves Christmas...(just like Reed.) We always have a great time at Ms. Ann's!!!

Reed has one brother and they are best friends. They are so much alike it is not even funny. Woody lives in Birmingham and I really hope he and Jessie will come see us soon!

Reed's dad and step-mom live in Carthage. We get to see them a lot because they are always coming to Starkville to sporting events. Mr. Steve and I love talking about sports together...(most people would say we just like talking. HA HA!) Christy loves laying by the pool, entertaining and cooking! She is a great cook! Reed is turning more and more into his dad every day. But that's okay....I am turning into my mom, too... so if Reed can put up with a Sheila, I guess I can put up with a Steve!!! (love you, Mr. Steve!)

They are ALL great! What a wonderful family we have. I love Reed so much and love where he comes from. He is so much like his mom and his dad. It is such a blessing to have wonderful IN-LAWS who love you!

the ALPHABET game is hard.

I know I haven't really been keeping up on a daily basis, but I am still enjoying the alphabet game. I hope you are having fun, too!

We have been really busy with traveling to Madison to watch Andrew play basketball, Reed getting ready to start spring practice,
running the store and trying to clean, organize and "make room for baby" at our house!

I will try to keep up with the ABC game. The rate I am going now I will never make it to Z!!!!

H is for Happy Birthday...

My sister, Laura, just had a birthday. She didn't really get to celebrate with AP being sick, all of Andrew's basketball games and moving into a new house.

She and her cute family just moved into a new house this weekend. We were so excited to be in Madison this weekend to help out.

Happy Birthday, Laura. I hope you had a great day!

G is for GANNE...
I have a WONDERFUL grandmother. We call her Ganne. She lives in Kosciusko and is involved in EVERYTHING you can possibly do in Kosciusko. She loves her computer and sends emails all the time. I always get great forwards from her that make me smile.

She is always going to a club meeting, a DAR event or having a lunch with her many friends.

Ganne is a wonderful Christian woman. She is compassionate, sincere, and selfless. She is your classic southern woman. She loves her day lilies, drinks a lot of sweet tea and makes the best chicken spaghetti in the world.

I love my Ganne. I can't imagine G standing for anything else!

F is for FOOTBALL....

I couldn't help myself. FOOTBALL is a big part of life at the Stringer house. We love football. Most people think that after the season is over, things go back to normal and I get to finally see my sweet husband. WRONG! There are a few weeks of down time here and there, but the spring is just as important if not more important than Saturdays in the fall.
From driving and flying all over the place recruiting the best players to Spring practice...(which starts this week)....Reed stays really busy during what people call "off-season." I don't know WHO came up with that term, but I bet it wasn't a coach's wife!

F is a good letter...it could have been so many things. Family, friends, FOOD, or flowers (which my husband hand delivered to me on Valentine's day!)
Have a great day!

E is for EATING....
Eating just happens to be one of my favorite things to do these days!!! I try to control myself but it is so easy to just say, "Well, when you are eating for two...."

I was looking through my pictures and came across this great one of me and my friend, Heidie. We took a trip to New York this past summer and we were so excited to eat our first ever New York hotdog! We grabbed these dogs on the way back to the hotel after a long day of shopping.
It was a great trip...AND a great hotdog!

D is for DAYS of our LIVES...
Okay, you can make fun of me all you want, but I am obsessed with Days of our Lives. Just wait...its not just me. Reed loves it to. He really just watches it to make fun of the one liners that John Black says as he breaths really hard and gazes of into the distance with his dramatic eyes.
I have been a
DAYS fan for a while. I guess I started watching it in college. I remember that my mom and my maid Betty watched All My Children and Young and the Restless when I was little. I remember this b/c there was a girl on AMC who's name was Emily Anne. Laura's middle name is Anne and I always wished my mom would have named ME Emily Anne like the girl on AMC.
Anyway, the AMC and Y&R years are gone and its
DAYS that I can't get enough of. Its amazing to me how long it can take for ONE day to go by....but other things just magically change. For instance, Sean and Belle have a little girl and her name is Claire. Belle has only changed outfits 30 times since Claire was born and she is already 3! Its a miracle. She gets 2 months older between every episode.
For those of you who are old fans but maybe haven't seen it in a while, you are totally missing out. Stefano is in a coma and in an institution. John Black died. BUT Stefano
really had him frozen in his basement. Sami Brady Roberts Horton D'Mira (Yeah, she is now married to Stefano's really really hot, really really sexy son, EJ...but only because she had twins and one of them was Lucas' and one of them was EJ's...only on a soap opera, I know) is starting to really fall for EJ while Lucas is in prison for trying to shoot EJ. Bo (who happens to be my favorite) is dying and he is too scared to tell Fancy Face (Hope, that is.) And here is the kicker.....As we speak, John, Marlena, Bo, Hope, Kayla, Steve, Belle, Sean, Claire, Grandpa Sean Brady, Phillip and Chloe are ALL on a plane that is "about" to crash. You see, they should know that there is NO WAY that I am going to believe that they are going to crash a plane that is carrying EVERY single person that is important on the show. Seriously.

I can't wait to get home and see what happened today. We t-vo
DAYS every day and watch it together while we eat super. SUPREME ENTERTAINMENT!!!!

C is for CITIZENS of Humanity...
I have to make a confession. Baby Stringer is starting to grow and so is my waistline! I have this great pair of Citizens that I got at MINT.

They happen to be the ONLY pair of pants that fit me right now and I have probably had them on for the last 15 days straight! (I have given them a few breaks for a quick wash at night.)
I think before long I will be looking for some elastic pants! ugh! I can't believe it! But for now, thank God for Citizens.

B

B is for Bill.
I love Bill O'Reilly. I listen to his radio show each day and hardly ever miss him at 10 o'clock every night. I love Fox News in general, but Bill is definitely may favorite.
Bill also has a book out called Culture Warrior. I am not much of a reader, but borrowed it from my dad on CD. It was great! I loved hearing Bill actually read me the book. It would have been much different if I would have read it. It was much easier to feel his passion for the future of our country.
So that's it for B. I am sure I will come to some letters that are harder than others, but so far, it is hard to pick just ONE thing to post about. I could have talked about BAGEL BITES!!!, BULLDOGS, BLUEBERRY MUFFINS, BARGAINS, BEST FRIENDS (that was for you, Kate), or even BABY BUMP....yeah right!!!!

Have a great Tuesday!

Monday, February 11, 2008

I got this really great idea from my friend Laura's blog. It's called the alphabet challenge! Each day (that's the hard part) you have to post a picture for each letter of the alphabet! I am going to TRY and see how long this lasts!!!! So.......
A is for ANDREW.
My little brother, Andrew, is a Senior at Madison Ridgeland Academy. He plays baseball and basketball and is involved in FCA, drama and lots of other organizations. He is a great brother and a great friend. He LOVES his sweet niece, Anne Parks, and I know he will be just as great with Baby Stringer.

Andrew can impersonate just about anyone. He is a Christian. He loves Supe
rman. He has a big heart. He is a great leader. He has enough baseball caps to wear a different one every day. He's not afraid to ask for something he wants, and most of the time he gets it.

I can't wait to watch Andrew play in the upcoming basketball tournaments and finish out the season by representing his team on the MPSA All-Star team!!!
