Smith's first balloon!

daddy's boy

I really love the fact that Smith is a "momma's boy," but the kid sure loves his daddy, too! Smith loves copying and following his daddy! This was at the team brunch before church on Sunday and Smith was following his daddy around everywhere!

I think his daddy was proud to show him off!
(He was sizing him up to the offensive linemen!)

and he's off...

I took Smith to day care for the first time today! He was so exicted that he walked right in and started playing. I had to go back to the car to get his "supplies" and when I came back in the room he didn't even notice I was there! I stood in his room for a few minutes and talked to the teacher and he never even saw me! I can't wait to pick him up and see how his first day was!!

bowl cut and knee socks....

My sister and I are 10 and 7 years older than our little brother, Andrew. Needless to say, he always had THREE mommas. For a while, it was "cool" to be the elementary kid who had sisters that were "college girls!" Then in high school, he loved having some extra cheerleaders in his fan club during sporting events! These days, we are, as he puts it... "boring moms who go to bed too early."
I remember Andrew as a little kid with a cute little bowl cut
and his chubby little legs in knee socks!

This weekend, Andrew is leaving home and moving to Los Angeles, California. He doesn't have that bowl cut anymore and I am pretty sure he won't be sporting any knee socks in the California sun! I am so excited for him as he begins this exciting adventure.... He will be moving to LA to pursue modeling and acting and we wish him the best of luck!
Most importantly, we hope he has LOTS of fun!

He has done some work locally and here are some photos from his latest photo shoot. This month's edition of VIP Magazine featured fall fashion trends...

Smith and I went to say goodbye to Uncle Drew this week. Our parents had a going away party for him and we also celebrated his 20th birthday since he won't be home for it in a few weeks!

Happy Birthday and Good Luck! We love you!

a bad day at the doctor....

Smith has his one year check up and let me just say that I hope he doesn't remember it! The sequence of events went like this...
Nurse pricks his finger and he bleeds like they chopped his finger off...
Smith removes band-aid and bleeds even more...everywhere.
While waiting on the doctor, Smith falls and busts his head! It was such a loud, hard fall that the nurses came running in to check on us! It scared me to death! We were glad we happen to be at the doctor's office because it was a bad enough crash they I would have taken him there anyway! The doctor checked him out and said he seemed fine and that I needed to get used to all these bumps and bruises!
Once we finally calmed down from the crash, the nurses returned for his shots! Yep...after all that, the poor kid had TWO shots!
He's a trooper!

Stats:
26 lbs
31 inches
and a big head!

The bruise on his head already looks better than it did right when it happened. He looked like he got hit in the head with a baseball bat!

I had an amazingly uplifting weekend at the Chrysalis camp and my sweet husband stayed home with the little man! Well, he was little when I left on Thursday! THIS is what he and Daddy did while I was away!

Gannie was there cheering him along....Thanks Gannie for coming to help out!
